The Zcash Community Advisory Panel (ZCAP) is a group of community members that provides feedback and input on important topics related to Zcash. ZCAP members elect the community-selected members of the Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) committee, help inform Zcash priorities, and provide a way to gauge community sentiment on important decisions and initiatives.
ZF is committed to making the ZCAP more independent and representative of the Zcash community. As part of our ongoing expansion process and prior to the Zcash Community Grants (ZCG) Election and NU7 Sentiment Polling which opens June 11th, we are once again inviting community members who meet our eligibility criteria to volunteer to join the panel. A list of current ZCAP members is available here.
Eligibility criteria
The criteria for ZCAP membership are designed to be objective and Sybil resistant — that is, they do not rely on a qualitative judgment that could introduce bias, and they are resistant to attempts by a single person to exert disproportionate influence. You are eligible to volunteer if you meet at least one of the following criteria.
- Contributors to Zcash through grants or software development, including those who have:
- Grant recipients who have successfully completed more than 50% of their grant, as measured by the USD value of grant milestones that have been completed and paid out.
- Zcash Community Grants Committee members, both past and present.
- Active Zcash Community Forum members who have:
- recently visited the forum for 100 consecutive days and earned the “Aficionado” badge; or
- earned the “Regular” badge by being a regular part of the Zcash community over a period of months.
How to volunteer
If you meet at least one of the criteria above, you can volunteer to serve on the ZCAP by completing this form. The deadline to be added to vote in the upcoming poll is Monday, June 8th. Those that submit the form after the deadline will be eligible to be added to the following poll.
The form asks for:
- Your email address. This will be the official email associated with your ZCAP membership, and is how we will reach you to participate in polls.
- Your name. Your first name will be the display name included in the public list of ZCAP members. A last name is optional and, if provided, will be included in your public display name.
- Your affiliation. Tell us the organization you are primarily affiliated with (for example, ZecHub). If you do not have an organizational affiliation, please write “Community member.” There is also an optional field for a second affiliation.
- Which eligibility criteria apply to you.
Expanding the ZCAP is an ongoing, open effort to make the panel more independent and representative of the Zcash community. If you have ideas for how we can improve the way members are selected, we invite you to share them on the forum.
